Have you ever wondered about whether you have depression, anxiety, or other mood issues? This website, brought to you by the Mood Disorders Association of Ontario, presents a questionnaire which can help you come to your own conclusions. This is not a substitute for professional help, but it can help you figure out what direction to take.
There are many features of this website which are very informative. You can find many fact sheets about various important topics. For example, there is a fact sheet on ‘Early Psychosis and Young People.’ It explains what psychosis is, including what symptoms to watch out for. It talks about risk factors, and what you need to tell your doctor should you decide to go seek help. It also talks about certain treatment options and things that you need to do in order to get better.
Other topics include anxiety and mood disorders, bipolar disorder (manic-depression), depression, postpartum depression, menopause, seasonal spectrum disorder, suicide, and teen depression.
There are some guides available, which can help you with various things such as ‘Helping Someone with a Mood Disorder,’ or ‘Guide to Finding a Therapist.’
The links section includes many other websites that may interest you.
There is also an ‘In Crisis’ section, which lists a couple of phone numbers and websites that you can access if you are having an active crisis.
I hope you find this site useful and informative, either for yourself or someone you love.
